This painting depicts several human figures relying on each other to ascent towards a common goal, using each other as stepping-stones. All the figures are moving towards the top of the painting, symbolic of a higher level. Some of the figures are at the bottom while others are higher up, however by relying on each other, they will eventually climb up to an equal level with the rest. This is symbolic of RGS girls inspiring each other to look further with great aspirations. The vibrant colours used reflect the energy and exuberance of the students as they reach out towards self-improvement. This higher level depicted by the blue area in the painting could be improvement in sports, academics, character, etc. However, the essence of this painting is in each RGS girl reaching out towards her peak of self-excellence, thus soaring to greater heights.
